New software for RFID labelling

ClearOrbit, vendors of supply-chain-execution software, has introduced new bar-code and radio-frequency identification label compliance-management software that is designed to work with any warehouse management or enterprise-resource-planning system. It is aimed at helping businesses make bar-code labels and RFID tags without recourse to custom code, consulting, or new IT infrastructures.

Known as the Xtended Label Manager, it is written in J2EE and connects to any warehouse management or ERP system and bar-code label and RFID printers. There are two versions, X.LM Gold and X.LM Silver. The former offers additional features such as bar-code and RFID printing over the Internet, which will allow users to print RFID tags at shipping docks via Web page or Web services. It is compatible with major bar-code formats for warehouse, auto, retail, and health care, as well as formats mandated by General Motors, Ford, and Wal-Mart.
